THIMUN

My Thimun post, Part I-the chair notes.
Thimun was fun. It started of less fun, mainly because of my (or our) shyness. We went out a couple of times and stuff, it wasnt very interesting (in the begin of the week). The housing guests were nice, but i didnt go out with them.
Only on thursday we had some funny stuff. Ofcourse the debates were good, but its the funny notes you really remember.
On thursday we had to have our delegation picutres taken. We send a note that started with:

To the honourably inspiring, marvellously excellent, exceptionally impressive, enormously splendidly fabulous, tremendously magnificent, terrifically extinguished, yet notably brilliant and respectively praiseworthy President, Chairs and Rapporteur,

There was also something like, we the delegation of the great federative republic of Brazil, need to... , something about when we had lunch (we had to walk from the museon to the congress center to get lunch) and something like: ciao, the delegation of Brazil in ECOSOC

Suh, the rapporteur read it first, passed it on to Can (deputy president/chair). He read it and got a chair notepaper to write us back, and passed it to Philipp. He was too busy chairing and sorta read it and passed it on quickly to Levent (president). Levent read it with a smile and replied (on the note) the time of lunch, we could leave for the photo and ended with nice note. Couple of minutes after reading this, we got another note of Can. It said we could leave, the time we had lunch and that he was keeping the note to read out loud in front of the committee at the end of the day (we have done that everyday with all the funny notes). I sent him a note back saying we already got the note back from Levent. His face when he read that was so funny. It was sorta desperate. He first searched the desk. Then looked at us as in were is it? I got the note out of my map and waved at him with a smile. He hurried to us (as Brazil, we were sitting at the side of the room in front of the Chair's table), and looked as if asking for the note/quite desperate. We gave him the note in the end. End of the day, when we had still one reso to discuss left, we had 5 minutes of doing nothing (because the resos hadnt been copied yet). Can asked the house if they wanted the funny notes. He than said were is the Brazillian not? We were like WTF? The day before the notes had been read out loud anonymous. Suh read ours out loud starting with From the delegation of Brazil (it was on our official note paper). Maxime and I were like oh fuck! We just knew everyone around us was looking at us. He read the whole note out loud, not only the intro part (which took up half the page). After Suh had read it out loud, Can asked for an applause for the Brazillian Delegation, which we got :P.

The next day we had bought M&MS to send to Mauritius (thats another story). In the break Can asked if anybody had chocolate, cause he needed chocolate (or so he said). We ended up sending him some M&Ms and drop. He enjoyed the M&Ms, but he said the drop made him throw up (we found it back in a little cup. too bad we didnt see his face when he tastes it, we unfortunately missed that). We send some more notes, asking where the notes went (they ended up as souvenirs) and asking for emails.

I rarely give hugs. But I swear, the turkish chairs were cute & hugable. If I would see them next year at THIMUN, I would so give them a hug. This is quite exceptional. Ask Maxime, she'll be able to confirm I almost nvr hug, and that our turkish chairs were hugable.

I'll shut up now. Its a long post (for my blog standards that is) + I'm tired and have school tomorrow (oh noooo, post THIMUN syndrome!!). More stories will come later, although I'm not sure I'll post anything about the party =P.

Ciao,
Stéphanie
